In 2020, COVID-19 happened, and we all realised how weak we were when an invisible organism threatened our existence. In the fight against COVID, we realised the gaps in our ecosystem. We stood firm and fought against it, and now we are in better shape. But, Did we solve the problem? Do we know why we even ran into this problem? Can we confidently say that we won’t face such issues again? Aevum Jagat is an idea to show the global scenario with a small village as prototype and how its people stick together and came out strong.

Ages ago, a section of our community managed carcasses of cattle. They carried it away a feasted on its meat. Consuming such meat resulted in them being exposed to microorganisms that are foreign to the human body. But they survived, thanks to the strong immunity built by hard and grinding work. The upper classes of the community did not have this immunity and thus alienated these lower classes to the extent of untouchability and segregation. This segregation was labelled later as the Caste system in India. Hundreds of years later, we live the reality of a global COVID pandemic caused by an unknown person eating foreign meat (bat). The similarities are hard to miss.

COVID 19 lockdowns had their consequences. It did not take us long to realise we depended on this vast network to meet our demands. We were not self-sufficient. Our import exports were disproportionate, our supply-demand was imbalanced, and the quality of products was terrible. The scarcity of essential commodities and demand for organic products was a clear consequence of this lack of self-sufficiency and poor farming practices.

Imagine an isolated village far away from the rush of these cities, which doesnt even have ‘electricity’. Yes, India has alot of such villages like that even in 2018. It is easy to label it as an underdeveloped village quickly. But what if they were “Self Sufficient”? They grow their food, live in harmony with nature, and withstand the most demanding challenges posed by nature on a daily basis. Can we learn something from them and become self-sufficient.

Every species on earth finds food by itself, whereas humans depend on farming community. Farmers need lands and are therefore obligated to stay back in the villages. Meanwhile, cities are developing at a pace and are becoming lands of opportunities and better lifestyles. Naturally, farmers are choosing alternate professions resulting in the decline of farming communities.

What if a young boy from such remote village understands the importance of farming and wishes to express/share his knowledge with the world. Can he be successful in this idea by staying in his village? What role can a society, family, government/administration play in making the kid realise his dreams?

AevumJagat is the story of a 20-year-old boy chasing these dreams and navigating a complex, challenging and interwoven reality to help his nation. I firmly believe we need such young people in every village, state, country, and a world to make it heaven-like. But, we can’t just leave it to the youth. Everyone in this universe must take an oath to support such young minds to realise their goals. The oath is “Aevum Jagat”.

AevumJagat: An oath we all shall take to make this universe a heaven-like place.

Aevum (Latin philosophy): Heaven like place

Evam ( Sanskrit): Oath
